Chester Charter Scholars Academy Readers

Our Philoptochos will hold its Spring 2026 reading session with the third‑grade students at Chester Charter Scholars Academy on Wednesday, May 13th at 9:00 AM. If you’d like to read with these enthusiastic students, please contact Anna Hadgis at anna.hadgis@gmail.com.

The book will be provided in advance, and each group includes fewer than 10 children. The session lasts about 45 minutes, followed by a group photo. Carpooling from the church is available.

Hosts for Hospitals

Become a Host Family

 

Hello to my fellow Philoptochos sisters,

 

I'd like to take a minute to share some information about a great organization called Hosts for Hospitals, one of our newest charities. This non-profit has been arranging housing for families staying in the Philadelphia area seeking medical treatment for the past 25 years. Volunteers with Hosts for Hospitals can provide a spare bedroom to someone whose family member is undergoing surgery or treatment at one of our many Philadelphia area hospitals.  It is a great way to help someone in need who is going through a difficult time. As we all know, hotel stays can be expensive (not to mention scarce in 2026!).
